Plan B:30 km now fully guaranteed!
Owing to numerous queries from concerned participants, the Organising Committee is hereby announcing that the Gsiesertal Lauf Race will definitely take place on 14 and 15 February 2015.
Should no more natural snow actually have fallen by 10 February (as of 23 January there is about 10 cm), we will adopt “Plan B”.
This means that the race will at all events be run over the traditional distance of 30 km, as was also the case from 1989 to 1993.
The 30 km consist of a mixture of natural and artificial snow and the trail quality will of course be excellent.
As the organisers, however, we are confident that more natural snow is on its way and that the traditional marathon course can also be run.
This is Gsiesertal Lauf
This loved ski marathon has been taking place in the Val Casies, in the holiday destination of Plan de Corones, for over 30 years.
Over the years, this race has become one of the most well-known and attended races in the whole mountains, totalling 57,420 skiers who crossed the finishing line. It is an international event as there are over 30 represented countries.
The race runs along two routes: 30 km and 42 km.
Saturday skiers will compete using the classic style, while Sunday will see them competing using the skating style. The MINI-Gsieser will also take place on Saturday.
